Poplar Forest – D-Day Memorial Rescheduled for November 9
Enjoy a visit to two significant historic sites just down the road!
On Thursday, November 9th, 2017, history will come alive with a tour of Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, a National Historic Landmark and an award-winning historic restoration in progress, located in Forest, VA.
Following our visit there, we will travel to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA, exploring the remarkable monument honoring the U.S. soldiers who fought in one of the most pivotal battles of WWII, invading the French coastline in order to oust the German soldiers out of Western Europe.
Costs for participants is $38.00, which includes transportation on a comfortable 14 passenger bus and tickets costs to each location. Lunch at Liberty Station will be on your own, as well as a final ice cream stop at Homestead Creamery, Wirtz, VA.
