Our volunteers help preserve history, welcome visitors, and bring the homestead to life.
Why volunteer at the Reynolds Homestead:
- Preserve Reynolds family, Rock Spring plantation, and Appalachian regional history
- Support education, arts, and community programming

Volunteer opportunities:
- Docent/tour guide: share the homestead's history with visitors
- Events and programs: assist with a variety of programs and special events
- Grounds: help maintain gardens and other outdoor spaces
- Education and youth programming: support campus tours, school field trips, summer camps, and other workshops
- Administrative support: help with research, data entry, and outreach
- Food service support: help plan, prepare, and clean up meals and refreshments for events and activities
