Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance-use by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address issues as they arise. Receive a 3-year certification. University employees qualify for discounted rate.

The knowledge gained by attending the daylong training takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations around mental health and substance use issues. It improves understanding and provides a framework to help individuals in crisis and non-crisis situations. The training also covers Virginia Tech, local community, and national resources available for support.

Facilitated by Ana Agud, Virginia Tech Hokie Wellness.

Lunch is provided.
